Beallsville PA electrician on power line poleThere are three general approaches to get electrician instruction in a vocational or trade school near Beallsville PA. You can enroll in a certificate or diploma program, or earn an Associate Degree. Bachelor’s Degrees are offered at some schools, but are not as prevalent as the other three alternatives. In many cases these programs are made available together with an apprenticeship, which are required by the majority of states to become licensed or if you would like to earn certification. Following are short explanations of the 3 most typical programs offered.

  • Certificate and Diploma Programs are typically offered by Pennsylvania trade and technical schools and take about a year to complete. They provide a solid foundation and are geared towards individuals who would like to join an apprenticeship faster as a journeyman electrician.
  • Associate Degree Programs take 2 years to complete and are provided by Pennsylvania community colleges, commonly as an Associate Degree in Electrical Technology. They provide a more extensive education while providing the foundation that prepares students to join their apprenticeship program.

As previously stated, Bachelor’s Degrees are offered at certain Pennsylvania colleges, but are less preferred at four years than the other shorter programs. The majority of states require that an apprenticeship of at least 2 years and more typically 4 years be carried out prior to licensing. Because of that, many students are eager to begin their paid apprenticeship, particularly if it’s not part of their academic program.
