Corsica PA electrician on power line poleThere are several options to get electrician training in a technical or vocational school near Corsica PA. You may choose a diploma or certificate program, or receive an Associate Degree. Bachelor’s Degrees are offered at some schools, but are not as prevalent as the first three alternatives. Often these programs are offered together with an apprenticeship, which are required by most states to be licensed or if you intend to become certified. Bellow are short descriptions of the 3 most typical programs available.

  • Certificate and Diploma Programs are typically offered by Pennsylvania technical and trade schools and take about a year to complete. They furnish a solid foundation and are geared towards students who want to join an apprenticeship faster as a journeyman electrician.
  • Associate Degree Programs take 2 years to finish and are offered by Pennsylvania junior or community colleges, usually as an Associate Degree in Electrical Technology. They offer a more extensive education while supplying the foundation that readies students to join their apprenticeship program.

As earlier stated, Bachelor’s Degree programs are available at some Pennsylvania institutions, but are less popular at 4 years than the other briefer programs. Many states require that an apprenticeship of at least 2 years and more typically 4 years be performed prior to licensing. For that reason, the majority of students are anxious to start their paid apprenticeship, particularly if it’s not a component of their academic program.
